Here are a few of the most asked questions about our heaters, with answers of course.

Q How long is the flex?
A The flex is about 1 metre long
Q What is the weight of the heaters?
A The heaters are all between 2 and 3 kg in weight.
Q How quickly will I receive my order?
A We dispatch orders as soon as possible after we recieve the order, so if the order is received Monday to Thursday on next day delivery the order will be delivered the following day assuming the order is placed before 2:00pm. Standard deliveries are dispatched as soon as possible usually the next day. Express delivery orders placed before 2.00pm on a Friday will be delivered the following Monday and all other orders placed after 2.00pm on a Friday will be dispatched the following Monday for delivery Tuesday. At busy times it can take 24 hours longer to dispatch items. Deliveries off the mainland can take a little longer.
Q How big are your heater units?
A The answer to this question can be found on the relevent heater page, just click the more info link on the units main page.
Q What power source do the heaters need?
A The heaters require a 13A - 240V mains supply.
Q Do any of your heaters have a timer that can switch the unit on?
A No. (See next question)
Q Is it possible to use a timer to switch the heater on automatically?
A No, this is not possible, the unit has to be a physical push of a button to turn the unit on. This is purely for safety reasons, just in case the unit has got covered with anything that may prevent it from working properly such as curtains and the like. We know it's unlikely but we have to take your safety into consideration.
Q Can your heater be used as a proper cooling fan in summer and a heater in winter?
A Yes, the unit can make use of the powerful built in fan during the warmer weather to circulate the air within a room to give a cooling effect just like a desk fan. On the units that have them, the Ioniser and the oscillating vanes can also be used in cool mode as well.
Q Where does the cable come out?
A The flex exits the casing on the top right, when installed and viewed from the front.
Q Are any of your heaters suitable for a bathroom?
A Unfortunately no, due to the design of the heating elements these units are not suitable for any areas where moisture and steam are present.
Q Are the heaters only controlled by the remote control, or can they be manually controlled as well?
A The units have a control panel on the front of each unit which control most of the functions from two buttons. The only function that cannot be controlled from the front panel is the setting of the temperature on the 7040, 7044 and 7050 units which has to be controlled using the remote control.
Q I have two heaters, will the remote control both of them?
A If the two units are of similar design then yes, one remote will control both heaters. The 7010 and 7020 both use the same remote control, as do the 7040, 7044 and 7050. Some of the earlier models had their own remote control but now all new models have a common remote control. There are now only three remotes one for the 7010 and 7020, the 7040, 7044 and 7050, and on it's own, the 7019.
Q Can I plug this heater into a 13A socket, or do they need wiring in by an electrician?
A None of our units are supplied with a plug as we recommend that they are connected to the mains using a fused spur. Our recommendation If the two units are of similar design then yes, one remote will control both heaters.
Q Are all of your heaters thermostatically controlled?
A No, only the 7040, 7044 and 7050 have thermostatic control built in.
Q Can you supply replacement remote controls and if so, what do they cost?
A Yes we can, there have been a number of differant remotes used on our heaters over the years so if you need to replace and old or broken remote we would need to know the button layout to make sure that you recieve the correct remote. An incorrect remote will still operate the unit but some of the buttons may control something differant than what it says. As for the cost, they are all £9.99 delivered.
Q Can these heaters be used in a commercial shop?
A Yes, of course they can.
Q Do you deliver to Eire or do you have a distributor in Ireland?
A We can deliver to Eire but it costs quite a bit more, you would have to contact us for a quotation on delivery. We do have an agent in Northern Ireland and a distributor in Belfast (C.E.F.) who can supply our heaters. It may be cheaper to buy from them rather than from us. Delivery to Eire can be very hit and miss without any postcodes and can take up to five days to deliver.
Q How much clearance do I have to leave between the heater and the ceiling?
A The absolute minimum distance from the ceiling is 50mm but the units with temperature control like to have a bit more, around 100 to 150mm. This is because as we all know heat rises and the way that the temperature is measured is by measuring The temperature of the air being drawn into the fan. If the unit is too near the ceiling warm air is drawn into the unit switching off the heating elements as the unit thinks the room is at the desired temperature while down below it is still cold. On the temperature controlled units the larger the gap, the better they work.
Q What is the power usage on fan only?
A Not completely sure on this one but it will be minimal. Can I have a music question instead?
Q The power light is always on, is this normal. The instructions say there is a rocker switch, but this unit hasn't got one.
A The light is just signifying that there is mains supply to the unit; the 7040 and 7050 actually give a temperature display in the "idle" mode. The unit is only switched on when the fan is working. As for the lack of rocker switch, the designers keep switching (if you'll pardon the pun) from having a switch, to not having a switch, which causes havoc with the printed instructions that we put in the box. The newer units all have a switch, except for the 7050. The instructions are set up for having a switch and we usually put a note in the text saying that some units don't have the switch while others do. It's a bit confusing I know. Personally, I think they should all have a switch.
